BHG Fall Semester August Update

Hello Homeschool Families,

It has been a long time in coming to a final decision about in person classes for this fall at Bethlehem Homeschool Group.  The Deacon Board at Bethlehem Baptist met Sunday, August 9th, to review for the second time the recommendations made by the churches’ safety committee for reopening our buildings to ministries such as Sunday School and Homeschool.  They decided not to allow reopening at this time beyond the services we currently have on Sunday and Saturday night.  This decision was made because they still had some concerns about proceeding with in person gatherings in the buildings.

Thus there will be no fall classes at Bethlehem homeschool group.  I have contacted all of the teachers.  Some of them will be offering their classes in other places or in smaller groups in their homes. You may contact Amanda Cruz, amandacruzart@yahoo.com, and Jenny Creech, Jenny.writing.class@gmail.com directly as I know they plan to offer their classes in another location. Two of the teachers are going to offer their classes virtually.  First is Physical Science for Middle School and American Government for High School taught by Justin White, jpwhite82@gmail.com.  Second is Spanish 1 for 8-12 graders taught by Pilar Johnson, pilar68@juno.com.  Please contact these teachers directly to enroll in their classes.
I do believe that the leadership at Bethlehem Baptist supports the ministry of BHG.  After further review and revision, it is possible that there will be a winter semester of classes for BHG.  I will keep you abreast of what is happening in this regard.
Thank you for supporting this program.  I pray that you will work out your fall education plans for your children as the Lord leads you all.  It is a tremendous challenge to rear your children in these most unusual times.  However, in the greatest struggles exists the potential for our greatest gains.
God bless you all!
